FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS
Q CAN I TAKE PROTEIN AND SUPPLEMENTS WHEN I’M PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?
A We would always recommend that you consult your GP or midwife before taking any protein or supplements.
Q I’M DIABETIC, CAN I TAKE SUPPLEMENTS?
A It is important that you speak to your GP before taking any supplements because they may affect the way your diabetes medication works.
Q WHY MIGHT I NEED TO TAKE SUPPLEMENTS?
A Health supplements are not a substitute for a healthy, well-balanced diet. However, modern agricultural techniques, long distant shipping and food processes can cause a depletion of vitamins and minerals in our food supply. This can make it difficult to obtain adequate nutrition from foods alone
Q WHAT CAN I MIX MY PROTEIN AND MEAL REPLACEMENT SHAKES WITH?
A You can mix them with water, milk or milk substitute, depending on your taste.
Q WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEAL REPLACEMENT AND PROTEIN SHAKES?
A Meal Replacement shakes are specifically designed to substitute a regular meal, providing the vitamins, fibre, minerals and good fats that your body needs. They contain fewer calories than an average meal, reducing your calorie intake whilst making you feel fuller and less likely to snack between meals. You can drink 1 to 2 shakes per day making sure you eat sensibly. It’s a simple and convenient way to manage your calorie intake. Protein Shakes are not designed for weight loss but for muscle repair and tone. When you exercise your muscles are broken down and to repair this damage and rebuild the muscle protein is required. Protein shakes make it easy to get enough protein into your diet.
Q WHY DO I NEED PROTEIN?
A Protein is 1 of the 3 important nutrients your body needs. Many diets are based around large amounts of carbs meaning that many people are protein deficient and whilst not a serious health risk it may leave them finding it harder to lose weight, maximise energy levels or feel as well as they could. Too little protein means that recovery from exercise will be slower, muscles weaken and hair, skin and bone can also suffer. So protein is important for everyone, not just bodybuilders.
Q I TAKE MEDICATION, ARE SUPPLEMENTS SAFE?
A Certain dietary supplements can change the absorption, metabolism or excretion of medication so you should always consult your GP before taking supplements.
Q DO YOU HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION OR LOYALTY SCHEME?
A Not at the moment but coming soon.
